Hello everyone! :D I have important updates for you so sit up and pay attention!

Dance lessons are cancelled from the 2nd of February to the 4th of March, due to Chinese New Year and exams! ): But dont be sad! Lessons will resume immediately after our exams have ended, so come back down to dance on the 9th of March! YAY!

Till then,
Have an awesome CNY and enjoy your 5-day CNY break. But dont forget to start studying after that for your exams! All the best! Lastly, do not forget your steps, very important! ;p

Hey Dancers! :D How has school been for you so far? Do take note of the following updates!

As you know, next Wednesday (17 Nov) is a public holiday, so technique class is cancelled! BOOOO! ): But it's ok because there will be make up lessons the following Wednesday (24 Nov).. The timings are as follow:

Juniors: 5pm - 7.15pm

Seniors: 7.15pm - 9.30pm

SP Escapade is this Saturday (13 Nov), so all performers please take note..

Chacha performers: Be at Auditorium at 3pm as our rehearsal is at 3.30pm

Jive and Samba performers: Be at Auditorium at 3.30pm as our rehearsal is at 4pm

As spoken by Yihan about the 2 different federations last Thursday, here are some details of an upcoming competition by SGDF. Details are as follows...

Competition: 12th SGDF Singapore National DanceSport Championships

Date: Sunday 21 Nov 2010

Venue: Le Danz, Suntec City Mall Tower 3

Fee: Free but must register for SGDF membership

Do note that this competition is organised by SGDF, thus you are required to sign up for membership before you can compete. Events available are listed in the attachment in your emails, so do check them!

Members whom are interested in registering, please download and fill up the form and approach either Peiwen, Yihan, Ashley or Don for details. We will then advise you on how to register for the SGDF membership.

Alternatively, you can also reply us thru email for details and questions too. Once again, it's up to you ultimate decision if you would like to participate in an SGDF competitions or SBTDA competitions.

Junior Committee Interview

Hey Juniors!

Think you have what it takes to bring Singapore Polytechnic DanceSport to greater heights?

Come and join the SPDS Main Committee 11/12. We are looking for people who have initiative, commitment and leadership skills.

Interviews will be conducted on 6 October 2010 (Wednesday). It would last from 11am – 4pm, with each interview lasting about 30mins. Timeslot would be XX00hrs & XX30hrs.

You could be part of the following:

Secretary - Loves to take down notes...
Treasurer – Responsible and good with money, daring to chase for money !!
Captain – Love to dance and help others to improve their standard of dancing, bring the club's standard higher
Quarter Master – People who are fussy, neat, tidy and strong
Events – People who love organizing activities, must be happy-going (:
Human Resource and Welfare – People who care about members and love to share information promptly with the members

Hey everyone! Welcome back to dance! ;D Wheeeeeee! For those who are unaware, dance has started, so please come back.. And to those who are wondering about the change in instructors, Teacher Mario has gone back to Italy due to some family commitments.. So Teacher Franco Simone will be taking over for the next few months..

Ok, here are some other updates for you guys..

1) The Intensive Dance Camp has been POSTPONED due to issues with room bookings.. We apologise for the sudden change.. We are currently replanning the camp and will update you guys again when details are confirmed..

2) As our Vice Captain has mentioned, there will be 2 competitions coming up!

3) As most you have already heard, Shawn and Gladys Danceworld is having Waltz classes at only $5 per lesson! And it is a pay by lesson basis, meaning you only have to pay when you go for the class.. So drag everyone you know down.. No harm learning something new right? Life is short..

4) As for those who have signed up for the Ballroom Scholarship with Teacher Sharon, we will update you guys about lessons as soon as possible.. You can also approach Teacher Sharon if you have any questions..

5) Lastly, we have received many queries regarding the committee interview but a date has not been set yet.. We will inform you guys as soon as it has been decided.. Till then, keep your enthusiasm up, we love it!

Intensive Dance Camp

Hello again! (: Ok, Im sorry to those who are unaware of the Intensive Dance Camp. I didnt know dance break was so early! Hahahah! So here I am with the details for you guys! These are the main ones which you need to take note of.. Ill tell you guys more when dance restarts! ;p

Date: 27th September 2010 - 28th September 2010
It will be an overnight camp. It starts in the morning of the 27th and ends in the late afternoon of the 28th.

The camp will be free! (YAY!) But you guys need to bring money along because food will not be provided.. Everyone will be given time to go out and eat whatever they want! (DOUBLE YAY!)

There will also be a FULL DRESS MOCK COMPETITION! So bring along your outfit, make up, gel, shoes and everything you need!

Hello! Just some reminders for you guys!

1) There will be NO dance lessons for a month because of the exam period.. The Audition Room and MPH will NOT be open.. Do check your emails for updates ok? In the mean time, study hard!

2) Year 2s and Year 3s, please check your emails for details on the upcoming performances.. Take note of the events and dates that you will be performing.. Because one of the performance takes place immediately after the exam period, special formation training will be conducted.. So must must check your emails for updates!

3) To those going for Intensive Dance Camp, do check your emails.. Details will be sent out by this coming Friday..

Updated Dance Timings & Important Updates

Hey you! (: I am back with important things to tell you all.. So do take note ok?

Firstly, there is a change in dance timings.. See below for the updated one!

Wednesday
Audition Room will be opened at 3.30pm for self practise.
Recap lessons has been pushed forward slightly to allow more time to go through your steps. It is now from 5pm - 5.45pm.
Junior Technique Class will be from 6pm - 7pm as usual and Senior Technique Class from 7pm - 8.30pm.
The room will stay open till 10pm if anyone of you wants to stay back to practise your steps.

Thursday
MPH will be opened at 5.30pm. So be there early to get ready for lessons.
The Junior Class has been extended, from 6pm - 7.15pm.
Senior Class will be from 7.15pm - 8.30pm. Year 2s and Year 3s will combine class, with effect from 29 July 2010.
The room will stay open till 10pm if anyone wants to stay back to practise your steps.
Also, the third partition will be closed from 5.30pm, so if any of you want to practise your steps while the others are having lessons, please proceed to the third partition.

Friday
Audition Room will be opened at 6pm.
Senior Formation will start at 6pm and end at 7pm.
The room will then be open for self practise from 7pm till 10pm.

Ok, now time for the second thing on the list.. UPDATES!

All senior formation team (the Year 2s), please bring the following next Thursday (29 July):

Guys: Dance pants and white long sleeve shirt

Ladies: Straight cut black dance skirt and black shorts and white long sleeve shirt

Also, there will be a COMPULSORY formation practise at 5pm next week (Friday, 30 July) at the Audition Room. Please remember to turn up and not be late.

WEDNESDAY
Self Practise: 3.30pm - 5.30pm

Junior Technique Class: 6pm - 7pm
Senior Technique Class: 7pm - 8.30pm
Self Practise: 8.30pm - 10pm

THURSDAY
Self Practise: 5pm - 6pm
Junior Lesson: 6pm - 7pm
Year 2 Lesson: 7pm - 7.45pm
Year 3 Lesson: 7.45pm - 8.30pm
Self Practise: 8.30pm - 10pm

FRIDAY
Formation Practise (for Year 2s and Year 3s): 6pm - 7pm

For Thursday, the 3rd partition of the MPH is free for self practise between 5pm - 10pm.. So if you want to practise before/after your class while others are having theirs, please use the 3rd partition..

Ok, now time for an important update.. Please take note..
For this coming Wednesday, 30 June, there is a change in technique class timings.. Teacher Sharon will be conducting a hair and make-up class from 6pm - 7.30pm.. So the junior technique class will be pushed to 7.30pm - 8.30pm.. Same for the seniors technique class, it will be pushed to 8.30pm - 9.30pm.. The hair and make-up class is COMPULSORY for all juniors to attend.. Please bring the following along:

Make-up for girls (consists of eye shadow, eye liner, foundation, blusher, fake eyelashes, eyebrow pencil, lipstick)
Hair Gel and Hairspray
Hair Clips and Rubber Bands for girls
Dance Outfit (the one you will be wearing for competition)
Dance Shoes

Shoe and Skirt Buying Day

Hey Dancers, its shopping time! Guess what we are going to buy? Thats right, its your dance shoes (both guys and girls) and dance skirt (girls)! ;D The shoes will cost below $150 and the skirts below $30. So bring sufficient money ok?

Teacher Sharon will be bringing some shoes down on Wednesday, 16June for you guys to have a look. Bring your money then if you are interested in getting from her. But for those who want to have a look at other designs before deciding on buying, we will be having our shoe buying day on Thursday, 17June. Meet 11am at Chinatown MRT gantry. For those who decide to buy from Teacher Sharon but wish to come along just to kpo, feel free to do so! (: We will also be getting the dance skirts for the girls on Thursday (after buying the shoes), so please do not be late because we have a tight schedule to keep.

On another note, dance lessons resumes this week so dont forget to come down! ;D

Hello there all you dancers! It's been long right!

Okay firsts thing to be announced are COMPETITIONS! :D

There are 2 upcoming competitions that you all can take part in! The 21st Singapore Lion City International DanceSport Championships(20S$ per couple) & The Inter-Tertiary Dancesport Competitions(15S$ per couple for OPEN EVENTS)! It's FREE for TERTIARY EVENTS.

There's also entry tickets to watch the competition going at $25 bucks per person, inclusive of a buffet meal.

So those who are interested in taking part please do go down on the 2 of June to the AUDITION ROOM, 3pm - 6pm and look for either Don or Peiwen to fill up the entry forms and make the respective registration fees! :D

If you do not want to participate but you're interested in watching a dancesport competition, There are also standing dinner tickets for the 21st Lion City International DanceSport Championships which are available for you at a discounted price of 40S$ per person! Deadline would be Friday, 4th of June. Payment will be collect when dance is resumed.

NEXT! OUR SPDS FOC CAMP! It will be held on the 21, 22 & 23 of June 2010! Its is only 10S$ Per person! All meals, drinks and even accommodation IS PROVIDED! So come on and join in the fun! :D Those interested in joining our camp and have not submitted their names please do so by informing our events Leping or our treasurer Wangjue!

Also look out for our shoe buying day! which will probably be on a day after the MST week! This is for people who want to get their dance shoes as the seniors would be bring you down to several shops to get them! :D So watch this space!

During this 2 days the room is open for all self practice! :) So those going for the coming Kuala Lumpur Competition, Jiayou, Good luck & do well! :D

Those going for the KL Competition please also remember that we have a briefing this Thursday after Junior Lessons! It's is compulsory! :)

So we haven had a outing as a whole for a pretty long time! So here it is,

We have been really working hard on our dance steps and techniques for the coming competitions! So lets have a trip to east coast park! :) For what? Cycling of course! :D This event will be held on the 5th of April! Just after the 11th Nationals! So let all take a break and go enjoy the windddd!

Location: East Coast Park, Meet @ Paya Lebar MRT!

Activities: Cycling! Distance can be discussed! :)

So renting of bicycles will be at a cheap rate of 6dollars for 3 hours! We also will welcome learners(for those who can't cycle)! :D

As all of you know the nationals are coming up(so exciting right?), we are going to have a mock competition as usual! YAY-NESS! So this Mock Competition would be happening on the 27th of March 2010! :) Please shift and re-schdule your appointments and make way for this mock competition (maybe have dinner after that too!)! :D

Also, The Multi Purpose Hall will be unavailable to us all the way till the 20 of march for saturday practice! :(

Singapore Polytechnic DanceSport(SPDS) went down to the Nanyang Technological University(NTU) on the 24 of January 2010 where the 10th Nationals & 3rd Tertiary Championships were held!

Many junior took part in the Grade E event during this Nationals and it was the first Nationals that the juniors had participated in, not forgetting the seniors who fought well in the tough competition of the Grade D and C events.

The Juniors did really well in the Grade E event which resulted in the 1st Prize, 2nd Runner-up & 3rd Runner up being SPDS member. This was seen in multiple events.

The Seniors also did very well in the Grade D and C

NPDS Intraschool Dancesport Competition 2009!

Hello everyone! Here's a short update on what happened during the last few days of 2009!

SPDS & NPDS

Singapore Polytechnic DanceSport(SPDS) was invited by NgeeAnn DanceSport(NPDS) for an Intra-school Dancesport Challenge! All this excitement happened on the 28 of December, 2009.

Members from SPDS participated in grades E,D & C! Overall all the dancers have danced to their best and have put in their good work into it. It was a friendly challenge which allowed many of the juniors from SPDS to experience the feel and excitement in a competition as it was a first for some of them!

Teacher Melvin & Sharon showcased the Samba and Paso Doble. Definitely something worth watching! Eye-catching with their grooves and moves! The Challenge ended in a high note and an honor dance from SPDS's very own Skye Tan And Jennifer Tay for clinching the champion for Grade C! Very well done!

It's Party Time!

After the all the effort put in, NPDS held a post competition CHRISTMAS PARTY!! Buffet was served, games were played and of course not forgetting gift exchange! :D

It was a joyous party where everyone had fun and walked home with nice gifts!

Hello Dancers! How is everyone doing! Fine I hope!

Team SPDS!

On the 12 of December 2009, A few of our SPDS couples made a trip down to Kulai, Malaysia! Reason being to participate in the 1st Kulai DanceSport Championships! We Arrived there in the early afternoon, check in to the hotel and had a wonderful lunch at the Tropical Garden Resturant as a whole! (:

We then proceeded to the nearby shopping center, Tesco! Buy stuff, supermarket, drink coffee! Time past really fast when you are having fun eh? :D Sky turns dark and back to the hotel we go!

After a short briefing by the seniors, everyone went back to their respective rooms to turn in early! Making sure we have enough rest!

6AM, Dancers were given a morning call and everyone started to prepare for the competition! Make up, do hair and of course put on our costumes!

Proceeded to the venue at 9AM. Soon enough couple were on the floor competing in the first heats. After a long day of dancing, Results were out at about 10PM. SPDS supported clinched our fist as we were excited for our fellow club mates who went into the finals!

The result are,
Skye Tan & Jennifer Tay, Champions of both Latin Grade D and Grade C!
Don Lee & Ong Peiwen, 6th for Grade D!
Kenny Teo & Guo Sisi, 2nd For Grade E Rumba & 7th For Grade E Cha-Cha!

All of the rest have also put in their best and excelled in the competition. Overall It was an exciting and wonderful experience for all, especially the juniors as this is the first competitions they have participated in!

Celebration for the winner continued after the event ended and we had a mini-celebration ourselves to reward us of our effort we have put in.

SPDS Mock Comp Postponed

After much consideration, The Captain decided to postpone the Oct-Nov Mock Comp to a further date.

The pushed back is due to the following reasons:

Most competing couples are not able to make it.
Most juniors have no costumes to mock with.
Most juniors have not yet bought their make up.

As seen from above... Juniors... PLEASE CONTACT THE SENIORS ASAP on make up and costumes.

For guys, if interested to make your own costume. Do the following:

Find your Design.
Print it out.
Consult seniors guys.
Call GARY to arrange a time to make.
PLEASE GET IT DONE ASAP. The auntie tailor cant rush everyone pants and costume out!
Arrange in pairs or threes.
Prepare $150 - Pants. $150 - Top.

For ladies, Prepare the following..

Make yourself free on 28/29. TBC
Prepare Approx.. $150.
PEIWEN will bring you all down to get costume.

Who can register?

Anyone and everyone in SPDS is allowed to register for the training.

Who are we looking for?

1) Couples!

Ensure that BOTH dancers can commit!

Those without partners but have a steady record of attendance are also welcomed! Just register as long as you're WILLING TO COMMIT! Yup, the word is COMMIT!

2) Anyone who is committed and or is willing to commit!

Formation Team dancers have to ensure they are able to attend almost all of the formation trainings! That's where the passion and hard work comes in! It's a fast pace group.

Being in the Formation Team means you are able to perform when and whenever you are needed!

Don't be Surprised! Yes, notifications can come in as late as a week before the event!

3) Team Dedication

Yes, working your butts off for the club and the school, it's a team thing!

Being committed to dancesport and the club is one thing, but performing together in a formation team requires anything and everything from perfect coordination to flawless synchronisation, you move and groove as a team!

Being on time for your practices alongside with countless rehearsals of your routine with your mates, it's a group effort!

Effort and patience is vital!

8th SGDF Singapore Open DanceSport Championships

[SPDS Competitive Team]

The recent 8th SGDF Singapore Open DanceSport Championships was held on 1st August 2009, at the Singapore Expo Conference Halls A-F. Our SPDS competitive couples took part in the LATIN GRADE 'C' OPEN EVENT. With the 8th SGDF open being an international competition, SPDS had to compete with couples from around the world. It was an intensive competition but nonetheless our SPDS gave their best and shone on the dance floor. WELL DONE DANCERS!!

Congratulations to Skye & Jennifer and Bernard & Edna for making through to the SEMI FINALS.

Later that night, 25 members of SPDS attended the Night Event and had a delicious 8-course dinner. The Latin DanceSport competitors sizzled up the dance floor during the finals of the Asia Youth Open and the prestiges IDSF Asia-Pacific Events. Attendees were also swapped away by the grace and poise of Standard Dancesport competitors in events like the Grade A (IDSF Open). It was indeed eventful, a day not to be missed.

22 June 2009.

SPDS interaction day @ Sentosa.

It was a fun-filled event as SPDS dancers enjoyed themselves. 4 generations of dancers gathered for this very day. Games were well planned and executed by the Grand-Game Master, Keith.

The day started with 3-man soccer which proved no challenge to the juniors as they managed to come up with strategy to outwit each other. Tug-O-War was filled with laughter and screams as both teams try to win the opposite team.

The juniors were in for surprises after surprises as Keith edited Dog & Bone to Dog & Vegetables. Watermelons and Tomatoes were used and posed a challenge for the dancers. Witty as always, the juniors had their creative juices flowing and tried to outplay each other. Stocking Game totally blew the juniors' minds away as they wasn't prepared for this game. Nonetheless, they enjoyed swinging water bombs in stocking with their head. (:

SPDS Juniors tried to become Cheerleaders for a day as they tired to flip/throw/pivot/fly/toss people into the water. The day ended with a treasure hunt where the juniors dug out envelops and won some prizes. Seniors' Tie-shirt included!!!

Too bad for those who didn't come/couldn't make it. You have missed out alot. Fear not, the events departments will always have plans installed. So stay tuned.

It was an awesome night of strictly ballroom dancing at the Star Ball Singapore 2009!

We enjoyed the breathtaking and extremely inspiring performances by latin ballroom world champions Stefano di Filippo and Anna Melnikova from Italy and standard ballroom champions Simone Segatori and Annette Sudoi from Germany.

Absolutely manifiqué! Exquisité!
There were just no jaws left un-dropped in the Singapore Expo hall throughout all of the dazzling performances.

9th SGDF Nationals

The 9th SGDF Nationals held at the Hougang CC was a good platform for most participating juniors to “test” the competitive floor of Dancesport amongst friendly institutional competitors.

Representing SPDS was 5 junior couples of which all had made it to at least one semi-final. They’ve competed hard and will be striving towards greater heights, they’ve returned with not just competitive experiences, but also the hunger and inspiration of training, dancing and fighting harder for SP and themselves, targeting the finals as their next destination and the podium as their final resting ground.

Do expect more at the next nationals, our couples will be training hard till then.

This may be the month of the holidays, but it's also the month of extreme changes and events for SPDS! So gear up!

1. Committee Interview

Interview for the juniors will be done on the 12th December 2008, Friday from 12p.m. - 3p.m. onwards

For juniors who want to contribute back to the club and are looking to be actively involved in the SPDS committee, this is your big break!
For those who're interested but cannot make it please give your names to Jane - 9185 6603, via sms okay!
We strongly encourage all of you to give the interview a try!

2. JFT Debut - Leo Club Event Performance

Here's a brief overview of the timeline, JFT please take note:

Exam Hiatus

Due to the coming MSTs, the SPDS blog will be going into a hiatus, but here's a wee bit of updates before we draw the curtains for this coming mid-semester tests. As such, the blog will not be functioning other than the tagboard for the entire week yar.

1. Exam Hiatus

Please take note that there'll be no JFT or SFT training, practice session, or lessons on week 8 due to the exams, all activities will resume by week 9.

2. JFT Performance Debut

JFT performance debut has been postponed due to the postpone of the event, possibly either on the 13th or 14th Dec 2008, additional upcoming performing dates include the 20th and 21st Dec 2008 as well.

3. Committee Interview

As the year slowly draws to a close, the SPDS committee is looking for new intakes from our current year 1 batch, spread the word and get read to be called up for interviews.

4. Blog Facelift

Expect a new interface to come in soon!

Things to note when joining the formation team:
- Make sure you have time to commit to this team
- Will need 1 more day for the formation practice
- Not everyone will be performing everytime, will have to take turns to perform

Formation team will be a good practice for your technique as well, it will be recommended to join in. I wish you all will have fun in this formation. At the same time, i hope that you will take this formation team seriously as we will wan this team to be always ready for performance. We will be not hesitate to kick you out if your attendance is not regular.

For most of you wondering what's gonna happen during the holidays and after the exams, here's a brief update on the list of activities:

1) Check the "Calendar of Events" for updates of this month's activities, we update it on a monthly basis
Things like whether there is training on this or that date, can be found there!

2) Holiday Lessons
Lessons will still be held on the Holidays, Thursdays, time is to be confirmed, the default training time will prevail if no changes are made.

3) We are are the 7th Lesson!
Congratulations on finishing 15 official dancesport lessons! The 16th lesson will be after the Holidays.
And you guys will have to see Mei and Bernard very soon again!

1) Rooms available for practice use

Rooms are available for use on Mondays, Wednesdays(as usual) and Fridays. Anyone interested in using the rooms can contact Skye, 9119 5534 to check for availability.

Rooms on Mondays and Fridays will indefinitely be openend, meaning we won't open them unless we're using them or there are requests, so please send them in a day or two before.

Audition Room on all days

Mondays 2p.m. onwards (look for Skye to get keys)

Why should I register?

Ever felt the adrenaline rush of being on stage, performing in front of a big crowd? Everyone gluing their eyes onto you!

TIME TO SHOW OFF AND FLAUNT YOUR MOVES!

We perform for anything from SPDS CLUB CCA DRIVES to major school events! You guys are literally the ambassadors of SPDS!

Yes, CCA points are awarded for school performances! And it MIGHT just bring you closer to that SP IVP Jacket you've been craving for! Who knows?

This is definitely a privileged group!

Who can register?

Anyone and everyone in SPDS is allowed to register for the training.

Who are we looking for?

1) Couples!

Ensure that BOTH dancers can commit!

Those without partners but have a steady record of attendance are also welcomed! Just register as long as you're willing to commit!

2) Anyone who is committed and or is willing to commit

Formation Team dancers have to ensure they are able to attend almost all of the formation trainings! That's where the passion and hard work comes in! It's a fast pace group yar!

Being in the Formation Team means you are able to perform when and whenever you are needed! Yes, notifications can come in as late as a week before the event!

3) Team Dedication

Yes, working your butts off for the club and the school, it's a team thing!

Being on time for your practices alongside with countless rehearsals of your routine with your mates, it's a group effort!

Effort and patience is vital!

Once you register, prepare to commit!

When does training for the Junior Formation Team begin?

Hi everyone,

Pls be reminded that this thurs will be having a full dressed mock competition.

Girls!! Pls be at MPH at 430pm. You will definitely need at least an hr to do your make up and hair. We hope that you can be ready by 530 so that lesson will not be delay.

Guys!! Pls come at 430 too to give your girls all the support ^-^ !

I will be there to help up. Dun worry. Cya soon!

First of all,
for the competitors!
Competition is coming, and if you guys have certain questions like how to get to the venue if you're not following the school's chartered bus and etc. you guys can refer to this website: http://clubs.ntu.edu.sg/dsa/nationals2008/index.php

For anything not listed in there, just look for Captain Yang! Refer to the previous post for her contact details and the information she has posted!

Second of all,
This blog has been updated! Please check the Gallery Section and Links Section for the updates

Gallery Section has been updated with all our club's performances at various events and our title winning Opening Items.
For those who have no idea what is an opening item, it's an open style dance performance opened to all participating institutions, we're allowed up to 4 minutes to showcase any whacky ideas we have and a total of 16 members on the floor for the item.
We're still formulating ideas and will be roping you guys in whenever possible, so be prepared!
Till today, SPDS has been the winner of all, meaning all the previous 3 existing opening items, and we have a title to defend this competition!

We're currently thinking of more sections to open up to keep this blog lively!

Competition Day!

Hi guys! Competition day is coming!! I see that all of you are working hard, that's a good start. Keep it up!!

Anyway, pls take a look at the details and rules below for the competition day, 28th June!

Location:
National Institute of Education Sports Hall
National Institute of Education
Nanyang Technological University
1 Nanyang Walk, Singapore 637616

Time:
Report to SP rock climbing area at 1130am. There will be bus catering to the competition venue.
Please be punctual. We will not wait and leave on time.
After competition, there will also be bus taking us back to SP at 1030pm.

CHAMPIONSHIP RULES:
1. All competitors must be members of the Singapore DanceSport Federation.
2. The Championship Organisers reserves the right to refuse entries from persons whose status
are unclear according to SGDF Rules.
3. No change of partner is allowed in the same event.
4. All competitors must attend rehearsals as requested by the Championship Organiser.
5. All competitors must be present for their events on time. Late-comers will be disqualified.
6. The Championship Organisesr reserves the right to change the programme of events without
prior notice.
7. The Championship Organisers will not accept any liability, claims for injuries, damage or loss
suffered by the competitors.
8. The judges’ decision shall be final.
9. In the event of any question or matter arising out of any point which is not expressively provided for in the rules, the Championship Organisers shall have the power to use its own discretion.
10. Age limits are taken during the calendar year 2008 (based on IDSF / ADSF regulations).
11. For LOWER PRIMARY and UPPER PRIMARY if both dancers are of different age groups, the higher age grouping (UPPER PRIMARY) shall come into effect.
12. For TERTIARY CLOSED EVENTS, both dancers MUST be from the SAME institution, and hold valid matriculation cards. Mixed partnerships will be disqualified.
13. Members may only participate in a maximum of 2 consequent Graded Events, up to Grade B:
Example :
Grade E and Grade D - permitted
Grade D and Grade C - permitted
Grade E and Grade C - not permitted
14. Participants in Grade B must not have competed in any Grade A previously with the same
partnership.
15. Participants in Grade A may not compete in lower events.
16. All female athletes are required to wear heel protectors. Failure to wear them may result in
disqualification.

Singapore Polytechnic DanceSport's First Freshmen Orientation Camp 08/09.

IT WAS A BLAST!

All the hard work put in by both the organising committee and helpers were all worth it!

Special thanks extended to also clubs that have loaned us their equipments and assistance including SPSU, Sports Club, BP Mentoring and especially BE Club.

Hope you campers really enjoyed it!
